The coastal town of Tivat has always been an administrative, geographical and cultural part of Boka Bay, which shaped the cultural and social life of the town through history and deeply influenced the architecture, habits and cultural creativity.
Beside the features that it shared with the surrounding towns, this town had its own cultural and economical development through history.
These two circumstances formed the spirit of this town, its architecture, society, economy and culture.
Cultural life of Tivat is realized partly through activities and manifestations of Cultural Centre, which is the heart of cultural and informational work of:
- Buća museum and gallery
-winter and summer stage,
-Radio Tivat and
-Town library
and partly through the work of private galleries and exhibitions, as well as cultural and tourist manifestations, like:
-masquerades
-carnivals
-festivals and others
Tivat is also home of numerous artists of various interests (painters, sculptors, musicians, cartoonists and photographers) while many of them who were born in Tivat live and work elsewhere.
The soul of Tivat’s cultural life is theatre trilogy produced by Cultural Centre of Tivat:
-Boka D - minor,
-Betula u malu valu,
-Inominato
as well as The Homeland Museum which is in the process of founding.

Homeland Museum (in the process of founding)
Homeland Museum (in the process of founding) is a project of Cultural Centre in Buca villa.
It is composed of:
-ethnological collection which is already exhibited
-Archeological collection which will be exhibited soon,
-maritime collection which will be exhibited soon.

Buća gallery
Inside villa Buca, there is a gallery which is opened all year round and has various exhibitions. In the past, numerous well known domestic and foreign artists exhibited their work in the gallery.
